Our Partners are Our Community
I joined the ShalomLearning team over 8 years ago after 20 years of working as a teacher, family educator, and education director in synagogue schools, youth programs and Jewish camps. From Day 1, I loved how committed the organization was to sharing ideas and building relationships. To us, partners are everyone who makes our community stronger. Our partners include:
- Creators and thinkers who share ideas and collaborate with us to build new programs
- Schools and institutions that use the ShalomLearning programs
- Educators, editors, and contributors who support our approach and work with us to continually improve our curriculum
- Federations, foundations, and donors who support our work
We Value, Respect, and Elevate Teachers
Teachers bring the ShalomLearning curriculum to life. Teachers and the schools and organizations where they work are among our most valued partners, and we do everything we can to support them as true partners. We don’t just hand over a curriculum—we share resources, provide training, collaborate through our community of practice, and support each other’s success. We build long-lasting relationships with our partners and across our partnerships.
Our shared goals of providing meaningful and relevant Jewish education and enabling students to connect Jewish values to their everyday lives build community, partnership, and a lifelong love for Jewish learning.
At ShalomLearning, I always feel heard by my peers and our community. Likewise, our partner schools have a voice. We welcome and actively – even voraciously – pursue feedback from our teachers and administrators. They see every day what students are responding to, what’s working, and what could be improved. Listening to and responding to the needs of our partners is embedded in our DNA. We acknowledge and hear every voice – it’s our culture.
Partnership Drives Our Curriculum
Our goal is to engage with today’s Jewish youth in a relevant and meaningful way. But tomorrow’s youth will be different from today’s and that’s we believe our digital curriculum needs to be reviewed and enhanced annually. We select writers, teachers, game creators, and content specialists from our pool of teachers who have used and loved our curriculum. As partners, our shared desire to constantly improve brings us together. These dedicated and enthusiastic teachers also generously give their time, talent, and experience to mentor new teachers in the ShalomLearning community.
You can apply this stakeholder-centric model to your school or organization and benefit from the relationships built when internal and external customers become partners.
New Opportunities through New Partnerships
Having a relentless focus on relationships opens the door to new opportunities that wouldn’t happen if we weren’t constantly listening. New opportunities mean we get to bring ShalomLearning to more communities, families, and students. We get to provide more content, more access, more training, professional development, and more affordability.
Some of our latest partnerships that enable us to further our mission include:
- The Association for Reform Jewish Educators (ARJE): Presenting at conferences for flagship Chaver Society members
- Lookstein Center at Bar Ilan University: – Collorabaring on creating new professional development resources
- NewCAJE: Sponsoring and presenting at conferences to support ShalomLearning educators
- Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta: Creating and implementing the Atlanta Hebrew Connection online Hebrew program for Greater Atlanta synagogues and independent learners
- Palm Beach Jewish Federation: Providing ShalomLearning curriculum to Palm Beach synagogues.
- Moving Traditions: Providing B-Mitzvah family curriculum to our partners at a discounted rate
- Matan: Enhancing the ShalomLearning curriculum with guidelines for differentiation
We will continue to listen to all of our partners and support them with unwavering support as we collaborate to constantly improve Jewish education and build culture and community.
